Copy Gov 209

I am directed by Mr' Sec Ch to ack the re-

ceipt of your letter of the 8th inst on the

question whether interest on the furniture in

the

in Govt House Ho glong should be paid by the

Gov while on leave.

2. Mr Ch ia advised that since the deterioration

tariation of furniture must be regarded as

continuing although it is not in use,

the charge

must be taken to be a standing deduction

from the Gov's salary, whoever draws the salary

and whether the house is occupied or not.

3. Thus. while on full-pay leave the Gov should'

ay the full charge of 5% and while the gov

is on leave with half salary half the charge

should be paid by him and half by the 0.A..
